This summer, my parents have consistently reported to me that they agree that not everyone should go to college.
Yet they still would have chucked me out if I didn’t go.
Tumblr friends, I beg of you, if you ever are blessed (?) with children, do not force them to go to an expensive, (most likely overrated) college, ESPECIALLY if they are not sure what they want to do. It is financially savvier to send them to a two year community college then transfer, or to go to a trade school to get a job right off the bat. Even taking a semester off to travel, explore and learn about themselves is better. Because, honestly, as a senior in college, if I could rewind the past three years, I’d do it completely different. And I generally hear that from folk. Who knows what they want to be when they are 18? I sure as hell didn’t. Should we be punished forever because of that? The answer, my friends, is no.
